ISLAMABAD: Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan, Omar Zakhilwal has said that the closure of Pak-Afghan borders under Afghanistan-Pakistan Trade and Transit Agreement (APTTA) is illegal. The security arrangements along Torkharm, Spin Boldak, Chaman and other crossing points are
heavily regulated.
He said he had written a letter to Pak army for reopening of these crossing points.
Afghan Ambassador in his tweet said that
, “The closures of these crossing points, which are
heavily regulated with full checking arrangements on both sides, serve no p
urpose other than to inflict hardship on ordinary people and hurt trade and transit.”
He said
, “In my letter to the Pakistan military leaders
hip, I strongly hoped that these crossing points were opened without causing any further unnecessary hardship. I conve
yed the same to Sartaj Aziz.”
